X Abstract

Cultures of sulfate-reducing bacteria and methanogenic bacteria utilized cathodic hydrogen during anaerobic corrosion processes for sulfate reduction and carbon dioxide reduction respectively. But Fe°-oxidation was not stimulated by the consumption of H2 or by the presence of methane bacteria. Growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria with cathodic hydrogen as electron donor was combined with increasing Fe2+ formation. Hydrogenase-negative <i>Desulfococcus multivorans</i> enhanced iron corrosion (Fe°-oxidation) by forming H2S and thus accelerating both anodic and cathodic reactions.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
