Notes for this articleAnthony read this a couple weeks ago and added to citeulike and I also saw it cited in the recent Espinosa review. Looks like a great minireview that I want to read. It's a minireview of the recent genome-wide analyses showing wide-spread PPEP (promoter-proximal elongating polymerases). Including from our friend Adelman's lab.

AbstractTranscription by RNA polymerase II (Pol II) is thought to be predominantly regulated by recruitment of Pol II to promoters. Recent genome-wide analyses demonstrate that many genes are in fact regulated after recruitment of Pol II, by mechanisms such as pausing of Pol II proximal to promoters.
