AbstractThis paper discusses the nature of biased and unbiased news in terms of 'trust decisions', using the cryptographic sense of that phrase. We examine the biases in modern media and identify their causes. Two examples of community news services are examined: Slashdot.org and FreeRepublic.org. From this analysis we derive a model of community news.
