AbstractMini-myringoplasty is an outpatient procedure developed to simultaneously lateralize the tympanic membrane and provide middle ear ventilation in patients who have developed atelectasis. This paper describes the operative procedure and reports on 50 consecutive cases in which these objectives were achieved. Patients experience a minimum of discomfort. Restoration of the normal tympanic membrane configuration and improvement in hearing are noted within a few days.
