X Abstract

This contribution describes the concept of a new high precision micro- and nano-force measurement facility. It consists of a measuring disc-pendulum and an identical reference disc-pendulum for the reduction of thermal and seismic noise. According to the theoretical calculations in the paper, the disc-pendulums with electrostatic stiffness reduction and electrostatic deflection compensation should allow quasi-static forces to be measured in the range <10[?]5 N with a force resolution of 10[?]12 N.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
