Abstract

A lyotropic nonionic lamellar system composed of pentaethyleneglycol mono n-dodecyl ether and D2O was studied using natural abundance 13C NMR under magic-angle spinning. Applying a two-dimensional recoupling method proposed by Dvinskikh (R-PDLF), 1H-13C dipolar couplings were estimated over a range of temperatures (300-335 K), thus enabling analysis of structural changes in the liquid crystalline system. The results obtained are used to correlate the conformation and mobility of local sites in the surfactant molecule with overall changes in the lamellar structure.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
