X Abstract

We used diffusing wave spectroscopy to determine the phase diagrams of binary mixtures of charge-stabilized colloidal particles of different dimensions in the low-screening limit. As the ratio of radii r = r 1 / r 2 was increased progressively towards 1; the structure of the diagrams evolved from eutecticlike to azeotropiclike and finally to a diagram where complete solubility was found; much like in atomic systems. We present for the first time evidence for liquid-galss transitions in these strongly interacting systems as the relative composition of both species is varied.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
